Chakra is a Sanskrit word for the 7 swirling disks of energy that line up the center of the body, in addition to an 8th one that hovers above the head. Each chakra is associated with specific colors and attributes. In the series of eight silk paintings, I show an X- ray vision of the human body, combined with a dancing figure and a luminous flower that expresses the energy of each chakra. I celebrate the body as a vehicle for the divine by painting women in ecstatic dance.

Chakra 4
The Fourth chakra is located at the center of the heart, is represented by the color green. The Heart Chakra is the central powerhouse of the human energy system. As the middle chakra, it mediates between body and spirit. This center embodies love, compassion , and our capacity to forgive. Inside the rib cage, a radiant rose blooms. The dancer's gesture expresses release of emotional pain. A beam of light streams down, flooding her with the healing power of unconditional love
